You are not just the drop in the ocean. You are the mighty ocean in the drop

Success: To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition, to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

I’m in Lake Tahoe this week. I rented a car because I didn’t realize I didn’t need one. Yay! Extra money spent. Whatevs. I drove to this cafe called Simple Bliss - it’s a vegan cafe and it’s cute and hilarious all in one. The menu has things like, “French Toast made with love and vegan butter spread”. I don’t trust people making things with “Love” as there are many ways to interpret love. Anyways. The owner-lady was sitting at a table with a young gay gentleman and he was talking about his heart problem and she kept trying to steer the conversation back to her son. I think he’s friends with her son and she’s concerned about him for some reason and wants information but the young gay gentleman wants to talk about himself. They both had gently dyed purple-ish hair. I asked for a sugar free vanilla latte and that caused a lot of confusion. They ran out and only have organic. Ok - I’ll take the organic - but nope - they actually don’t have that in yet. OK! What do you have? Apple! An apple flavored latte. OK! I’ll just have regular coffee and that love french toast.
It was all very tasty. The comic I’m working with called and said we got tickets to go on a paddleboat today if I wanted to go. Sure! Why not. Paddle boat into Emerald Bay. Then a nap then my show. Fingers crossed I sell enough CD’s tonight to be able to buy a bikini wax tomorrow. It’s the little things. Have a blessed day and be blessed (My new catch phrase!)
Growth fundamentally means an enlarging and expanding of one’s horizons, a growth of one’s boundaries, outwardly in perspective and inwardly in depth… Growth is re-apportionment: re-zoning, re-mapping: an an acknowledgement, and then enrichment, of ever deeper and more encompassing levels of one’s own self.

According to LA’s Bureau of Sanitation…
“an estimated 400 million paper bags and 2.3 BILLION plastic bags are used each year in the city. But only about 21% of the paper bags and 5% of the plastic make it into the recycle bin.” — Westways Magazine
Only 5% of 2.3 BILLION bags make it to recycling?!
In other news, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a thing. And it’s twice the size of Texas. I get that bringing your own bag to the supermarket is annoying for some, but a beach littered with plastic is even more annoying.
In other other news, I subscribe to Westways magazine. It comes free when you’re a AAA member. Ladies?
